A little more about Jen!
“Back in 2009 I started my blog, Grainline Studio, as a creative outlet while working as a pattern maker in Chicago. Sensing a hole in the home sewing market, I launched our first pattern in 2011 and things took off from there! I’m passionate about teaching and firmly believe that sewing isn’t hard, you just need to take things one step at a time, figure out what works for you, and that the best tip anyone can give is to practice.
I also believe that there isn’t one technique that works for every person and that’s what’s so great about sewing – the multitude of different ways that can work to achieve the same outcome. My team and I strive to bring you, our customers quality, professional patterns along with all the help and information you may need to bring your ideas to life. And since Laura & Allyson are all about knitting, we’ll have plenty of opportunity to knit and chill. There will also be one on one knitting class sign ups available if you’ve got knitting questions!

Three nights luxury accommodation, including spacious indoor and outdoor spaces, hot tubs, theater room, and fire pit!
Two full days of garment sewing instruction
If necessary, transportation to the retreat space from downtown Chicago, leaving Friday at 12pm CST and returning to downtown Chicago at 11am CST
Catered dinners from local chefs Friday and Sunday night

SUNDAY
7-10am: A la cart breakfast

6pm: Dinner from a local caterer
8-10pm: Knit night!
MONDAY
7-9am: A la cart breakfast
10am: Check out and head back to Chicago!
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made up to 1 month prior to the retreat are eligible for a balance payment refund minus a 10% administration fee. Deposits are non-refundable.
Because of the potential for a dramatic Michigan weather event, if there is a blizzard and we have to cancel the retreat you will get a full refund.
